Challenge
Massmart is the second-largest distributor of consumer goods in Africa and the largest retailer of general merchandise, liquor and home improvement equipment and a wholesaler of basic foods. The company needed to replace an existing contract management system
Solution
- Full system release across every division in the Massmart Group, with unique security privileges, contract precedents, levels of authority and compliance elements being applied to each division.
- The deployment covered five African jurisdictions with variable templates, business rules and levels of authority being applied in each country together with automated translations of the contract languages, based on the local business languages.
- Legal and implementation team analysed and uploaded more than 18,000 historical client legal documents that had been improperly managed under the previous system.
- Captured critical reporting and business data in relation to each contract.
- ‘Clean up’ of contract database and supplier database and effectively managing historic contracts going forward.
